High season costs seem high? Get 25% saving on BlueWater Express by choosing return travel to Padang Bai.
It is a well-known fact that costs tend to increase in line with demand, and tourist high seasons are no exception. Fastboats to the Gili Islands reach peak pricing July – September, as does accommodation, but there are best deals to be had by choosing carefully. BlueWater Express is currently offering a special 25% saving on returns to Padang Bai from Lombok and the Gili Islands, and this includes air-conditioned transport to both Central and South Bali resorts.
Most people travelling to South Bali resorts prefer to choose BlueWater Express’s service direct to Serangan, so it gets full very quickly. Whereas BlueWater have only one 70-seat-boat running between Serangan (South Bali) and the Gili Islands, there are two runs on the 60-seat-BlueWater Express 7 direct to/from Padang Bai, so a lot more capacity, and consequently a lot more space.
There are a number of advantages of choosing this run to get to South Bali, in addition to the lower price. Firstly, swells in the high season can be quite big, so people who get sea-sick or are nervous about boats may prefer the shorter travel time at sea, which is approximately one hour less on the Padang Bai run compared to Serangan. Clearly this leg makes sense for anyone travelling on to Central or East Bali, as the road trip is shorter to these destinations – with road transport provided by BlueWater Express to the South of the island, it is also a good option for people heading to South Bali resorts such as Kuta, Legian, Seminyak, Denpasar, Sanur, Airport
etc.
The time on the road from Padang Bai to South Bali is almost the same as the time on the sea, so door-to-door travel time is much the same. Plus – there is more space on board, and you have a better chance to get a roof-top seat (but don’t forget the sunscreen….)!
